Billie joe armstrong isnt the greatest guitarest but still there band puts off the best songs ive heard ever and i think they are one of the best bands ever. anyone else agree

Hmm... Ive here most of there stuff.. few of my pals are into them, and Ive owned a couple of there records.. but to be honest nothing really jumped out at me. I mean I probably heard 50 songs by them but could only name 2 or 3, that aint the mark of a possible "best band in the world" nominee

Well, I think you went over the edge a bit. I love them too, but best band??? well now. Billie is a good songwriter for their style and maybe one of the best bands for their style. But not best band ever.

Green Day is a cool band. Dookie and Insomiac rule. One of the punk bands that I can listen to without going crazy.

I only know the words to one song by them, and i forgot the name. Cause I'm that damn good, lol. I've only heard a hand full of their songs myself, funny lyrics. All my cousins loved the album "Dookie". I just liked looking at the cover art, and everyone throwing it around.

Well, everyone has there own opinions and i respect them, but i think it all comes down to your likings, well green day is coming out with there 7 album , (5th professional), this year , and they slowde down on there last 2 albums and say they are going to do a harder cd like dookie, so i think some views of people may change after there next cd explodes.

Green Day is pretty good in my opinion.. actually one of my favorite bands. They arent techinical gods... or anything.. but they write a good song... and i like that.

You know i used to like them but i`ve gotten used to there songs so much i dont really like them that much any more. :(

I think that there style is too limited to receive that title. Its catchy but not amazing. They lack the general musicianship that would be required to leave that sort of mark.

It dissappoints me how many people out there aren't musically inclined what-so-ever.

BUT....it is your opinion so I'm not going to completely damn you for it. I like some of greenday's old stuff, but as of today, I can't stand the band. It seems like they no longer play for the music, and they just got caught up in more image than anything else. That tends to happen to a lot bands today, but whatever...

dammet guys. It is absolutely impossible to determine who is the best guitarist. There are so many genres of music out there and so many styles of guitar playing that it is literally impossible. We might be able to determine the top ____ best shredders, or the top ____ fastest guitarists, but the word 'best' is too open. All guitarists are good at specific things they do, and they just might be better than another guitarist at something, but that other guitarist is also probably better at something else. The phrase '___ is the best guitarist' has gotten to be so annoying lately.
