If the pacifica is what I think it is (a strat clone) then maybe the middle position on your pick up selector, I've never used a vox pathfinder but I guess you would turn the volume up to about 3/4's, the gain until it starts to distort then use your guitar's volume controls to get a sound you, or angus would be happy with. If that fails you could buy a Les Paul and Marshall stack. Good luck

Hmm..this could be difficult. Angus use af Gibson SG direct into a Marshall-stack turned to half gain. This is a classic valve-sound, not something you just make with a different guitar and amp. I doubt you'll ever get that sound using only the gear that you mention, BUT maybe a stompbox can do the trick and an EQ. But then we are already out of the Angus spririt, right? :)

ANGUS USES AN SG(HIS OWN MODEL AND SOMETIMES A BLACK STANDARD) AND HE RUNS IT STRAIGHT TO THE MARSHALL WITHOUT ANY EFFECTS MAYBE IF YOU GET A MARSHALL COMBO OR ONE OF THE MARSHALL STOMPBOXES YOU CAN RECREATE THE SOUNDS.

I've found that a nice tele can get that ACDC sound pretty easily.

Guys, Guys. You don't need a Gibson SG or a Marshall amp to get Angus's sound. All you need is any guitar any amp and a Line 6 Pod. This pod is amazing. You can get 32 amp sounds and over 32 effects. This amp makes the crapiest player sound great. I recomend it to anyone trying to copy any great guitarists sound.

i get the sound with my zoom 707, but probably all you need for the sound is a overdrive pedal, with alot of middle and high tones
