In your opinion, how difficult would it be to switch from bass to guitar. For those of you that play both bass and guitar, i'd like to know how long it took you to play one once you picked it up. Thanks for your help.

Well as a guitar player, I find Bass playing realy easy.
Bass guitar dont play chords, or power chords so playing guitar would be way harder (I think).
pull and hammer techniques will be the same, your used to the thicker bass strings so that wont be a problem.
Theres a lot of differences, but there are simularities too.
Its just getting used to the 2 stings extra, and some different styles of playing I think (strumming for example)

You don't recognize bass players, or there aren't any famous ones, or they don't make a difference????
Check out: Victor Wooten, Stu Hamm, Jaco Pastorius, Bill "The Buddha" Dickens... 'nuff said
P.S. - as for your popular bands, check out Tool. Their bass player makes a huge difference, and is semi-famous.

Flea from chili peppers is good too, imo. Hard to play funk without a nice bass groove.

My friend plays bass and he can actually play electric guitar really well too. I remember the first time i learnt anything it was on bass. Now i find it really hard to play bass because i'm so used to doing fast alternate picking. There are different techniques for bass and electric guitar so they can be quite different.
