How do you prenounce Yngwie Malmsteen?

Swedes and Americans pronounce it quite differently. I'm not really sure how to write a pronounciation...

Wasn't his first name originally spelt "Yngve" though? I think the Americans just misspelt his name or something...

That's how I pronounce it, too. Pretty obvious, since we're both Norwegian.

Well yeah, but he's still pronouncing his name in English. If you ever hear him introduce himself to somebody in Swedish, it's a whole different thing. I also pronounce my differently when introducing myself to English-speaking people, from what I would to Norwegians. After all, English-speaking people can't pronounce my name like it is in Norwegian, so I don't try to make them.

Yngve is a common Swedish name so Yngwie is just Americanized version just so it doesn't look as stupid as Yngve.. one could guess.

Yeah, Yngve is a very common name in Scandinavia, but I've never heard the name Yngwie before. Sounds like a cartoon hero or something.
