My bro's a drummer, primarily a jazz drummer and he heard a tune I have called Actual Proof (Brett Garsed, Shawn Lane, Frank Gamble). He's been reminded of his roots and wants to get as many tunes of this nature as possible but unfortunately has a capped d/l. Any recommendations as to what bands or artists are great for fusion drumming? Or jazzy funk type - I don't know drumming or many artists in this field.
(so he doesn't have to get a ton of tunes to figure out what he likes)

I don't know exactly what to classify him as, but Dave Weckl is an amazing drummer. He's mostly jazzy, but man he is good.
My bro is a drummer and has some of his tapes and that dude can play the drums. Give him a listen.

Something Whackerman, isn't it? Holdsworth's drummer, that is. Also, Tony Williams, the legend.

Hey thanks. I don't think he's looking for actual decent drummers, just a particular style of tunes that he enjoys playing. My jazz days are long gone but I'll pass along the info, thanks.
Have him check out the band Tribal Tech, Kirk Covington is an amazing drummer...

Brett Garsed, Frank Gambale, AND Shawn Lane all on one tune? I've got to hear this! What album is it from?

I'm assuming this one:
MVP (The Mark Varney Project) / Centrifugal Funk (1991)
Actual Proof
So What
Hey Tee Bone
Tokyo Blue
Spatch
Elegant People
Lane's Blitz
Loverstruck
I borrowed one of my buddies harddrives a while back and the tune came with it, so I don't know for sure.
