is there anybody here help me? i have a problem with my sound. how can i creat the 'sharp sound'? which like the first clean ones of 'smell like teen spirit' ? they said kurt used the poly chorus in the nevermind, did it creat the 'sharp sound'? what the chorus stompbox used for? please send me the help to my e-mail:

I'm not quite sure what you are looking for, but if it is a good heavy distortion, get a good distortion pedal and a good amp.

It's pretty much his guitar that's sharp (trebly) in sound.
Try to increase the trebles , and decrease the bass from whatever amp/effect you're using , and switch to the bridge pickup .

BTW , what type of guitar do you use , and what amp/effects ?

The chorus is a nice effect that's mainly used with clean sounds like Metallica's ... But I think Cobain mainly used chorus with distorted leads.

In the video he's using a Strat. He used a lot of Fenders, I think he preferred Jaguars, if I'm not mistaken. A Strat with the bridge pickup selected and some chorus would probably do a good job of replicating the clean section of Smells Like Teen Spirit. For the distorted part, just remember that less is more.
