Hey some people spend their cash on crack. I just happen to buy guitars...
Now that the archtop wolfy is finally in the stable, I am looking to set my sights on a (cough, cough) Fender (cough, cough), but it can't just be ANY Fender, it's got to be something worthy of my collection, so that means anything NOT from the Custom Shop is out of the question.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with any of the custom shop instruments and what the turn around time is on one. I mean I also want to get a new Charvel from the Ontario, CA shop built also, that is, unless I can find an original San Dimas Hot Rod Flames Strat Neck. :) Gotta make sure I have the cash for them all....

You could try robbing Steve Vai? You know, break into his house and steal his stuff. I'm sure he's got what you're looking for.

Actually he doesn't. I have already checked :) Last known of the one that I want was Mick Mars had one with a reverse strat head, and CC Deville also had one but after that the trail went cold on both after endorsement deals with other companies

according to what i've heard it varies from guitar to guitar, i.e. what kind of wood and how readily available it is, what kind of finish, the type of electronics (they don't stock some of the lesser, boutiquey brands, and don't have many Seymour Duncan/DiMarzio offerings).
