What wood type do you all prefer for your guitars?

Welcome, Hammurabi! All of my guitars are mahogany and/or maple, with rosewood fretboards.

I'm not actually new here, I just took a really long (like 3 years) break and forgot both my username and password.

That's what I have. Mahogany with a maple top and rosewood fretboard. I love it. I want to try swamp ash sometime but there's something about being a college student that kills your budget. Especially when your parents are also putting two other siblings through college at the same time.

I also want to try bubinga sometime. Does anyone have any experience with that at all?

the body of my new guitar will be partially made of bubinga. a very light wood with a bright sound. i´m curious what it will sound like when its done.

I guess I'm used to the 'ol standard, mahogany back, maple top, and rosewood fretboard. I used to dislike the way koa looked, but now, for some reason, I cant stop thinking about haveing a Les Paul single cut body style with a koa back, quilted maple top, koa neck, and rosewood fretboard, all natural with clear coat. *drools* I believe koa is supposed to be slightly brighter than mahogany isn't it?

I can't remember. You ever look up how much koa costs? That stuff is intense.

I want a guitar made from some endangered species. That would be cool.
