Im guessing he uses more than one make but i might be wrong. Just wondering as i like his music and am learning a few of his songs. I have a marshal mg30dfx, pretty poor really :(. Im getting a new amp and my guitar teacher has told me two amps that would be a good choice, the Laney LC15(R) and the Peavey 5150.
Just wondered if Joe Satriani used a 5150. Think he has a song called 5150 which i think might be named so because he is using a 5150 or something, dunno though, im probably wrong lol.
Thanks Jowin

Yeah, Satriani has used a Peavey 5150 on some of his tracks on his recordings, but he uses a little bit of everything.
What sort of music do you play? If you could get a 5150 combo used that would be perfect for high distortion music (Metal, hard rock, etc). Lots of swedish metal bands use the 5150 to achieve some bad ass distortion. And a friend of mine owns a 5150 combo and you will just have to spend a bit of time dialing in a proper tone and then you'll be set.
I don't know too much about Laney though.

Does it not come with a manual that has images showing how to set the dials for certain souds such as metal, screaming lead etc...?
Most the time things do. I play a bit of everything....acoustic stuff, stuff i just make up thats kinda like the heavyier licks from satriani's album Strange Beautiful Music, like on Mind Storm ...amazing song ;)....i play a bit of everything though. i like his lead too, like in summer song.
