Hi,
I have an ES-335 (copy) and I would like to change the originals pickups.
What do you think about the Golden Age humbuckers?
How can them be compared with the Gibson PAF 57?
Thanx.

Golden Age HB's are pretty good but they aren't gonig to sound that much like what you typically associate with an ES335. They're designed to be economical one-size-fits-all humbuckers that are pretty much mid-level for all types of music. They aren't BAD, bit's just that there are way better more specialized pickups. Unless, of course, you're on a serious budget (then the $35 price tag isn't bad at all).
PAF's are way better. Seymour Duncan, Gibson, and DiMarzio all make their own incarnations that are pretty much the same, and run generally from $50-$80. I like the TV Jones and Seymour Duncan Benedetto humbuckers for semi hollows and hollowbodies, and Rio Grande pickups are great for blues, country, and bluesrock/Southern Rock/Acid Country/etc.
A lot of it just depends on what sounds you're trying to get.

Thanx PonyOne,
I'm really looking for some pickup that sounds close to the Gibson PAF and costs less than it(U$140).
Where did you find these pickups for U$50-U$80?
