Im looking to buy a decent tube amp to use in my bedroom, im very tempted by the 5150 but it will only sound its best when the volume is turned up and with this amp thats not a good thing to be doing in your bedroom :D
The laney however would be a more practical choice but its just so ugly :|
Which one would anybody recomend then?

I had a solid state Laney mighty fifty back in the early 80s.
It spent most of its life in the repair shop.
Ill never get another Laney!
Have you thought about a line6 POD or Pod XT ? These things are virtually indestructible which makes them good buys second hand. You can also plug headphones into them (great for a bedroom) and they sound fantastic. You can probably get a POD second hand on eBay for between 150 and 250 USD.
The 5150 actually doesn't have to be turned up extremely loud to sound good. But if you are only going to be playing it in your bedroom than what is the use in having such a powerfull amp though? Not to mention that the clean channel on this amp isn't all that great.
As for the Laney, I've never heard that particular amp, but I do know that their tube amps are capable of producing some very nice tones.
