Generaly 24 fret guitars ain't more expensive than 22 or 21 fret guitars (as a matter of fact , the most expensive guitars are usualy 22 frets !) .

Check out Jackson, Ibanez , Carvin & ESP ... I've been hearing very good reviews on Kramer but I haven't realy tried one before.
A nice one should generaly cost arounnd $500 .

The Kramer's kick ass. I got one of the http://www.musicyo.com Kramers and you can't beat them. Most of the 24 fret monsters are UNDER $300. Check them out.

brand spankin new... i changed the bridge p/u though. There's a thread here somewhere where i describe it in gory detail... IMHO it's probably the best deal you're going to get unless your cousin sells you his '62 Les Paul for $100.
