View Full Version : Scales In General, Are they all based off of certian shapes?

Ive knoticed that Minor Pentonic's are all based off of two shapes and major is based off of three. are all scales based on shapes? Thanks for any input.

Normaly , any scale should have like five patterns (or more if you like to join more than one pattern) .
Actualy these patterns really help , but you should look for some theory first before going to memorize patterns , same with chords and arpeggios ... It makes a difference.

Check out the "Fret board Logic" books by Bill Edwards, they covert this topic in great detail and they are easy to understand.
