No, you didn't misunderstand, tk. guitartrader.com sells international, but Eric, the guy I am dealing with, said that export duties can get almost as high as the price of the gear. So, he wanted to make it US only.

Years ago I ordered a video tape from the states by phone. It was $29.95 U.S. but by the time I payed the exchange, taxes, shipping costs, customs and whatever else... my visa got charged for $56.85 CND.
All that for an hour of Jerry Springers "Too Hot for TV"
