Hey baby, welcome to my world. At least you'll know what I'm up to on the net all the time.
By the way people we live a long way away so we don't see each other much. She does know a little bout guitars, but not much. She knows what a neck bend is and a 2 hand tap, so she knows more than the average person i would say.

We had a thread goinī around and lot of it was focused on what to play to impress girls.
So please, can U give us some answers. As you may see, weīre all dersperate (LOL).
PS. are you perhaps from Sweden īcause Emily is a very common name around here.
O yeah, if you like purple, than Deep Purple is the right band for you. Just a suggestion though.

Deep Purple, English classic cult rock 70īs band. You must have heard Smoke On The Water intro īcause thatīs the first thing evrybody learns on guitar. Richie Blackmoore on guitar, great guitar player. If Beatels are gods of pop, than Deep Purple (along with some others) are gods of rock.

Good question....
My former teacher, who is according to many people the best around, refuses to learn females cuz according to him they don't get a thing. He says that he has had a few female students and noone of them got what is the electric guitar about. And this is only electric guitar, speaking of classical guitar I know some brilliant female players.
So anyone know a good female electric guitar player?
I think there was one who toured with Michael Jackson but she played mainly 5ths and all her soloing was tapping
Also I saw on VH1 some band made of only girls...sthing like Spice girls but with instruments in their hands. Their songs were pop rock crap, but the solo player had some reasonable solos.

Ahhhh, I see.
As far as famous girl geetarists go, there's Sheryl Crow, she seems ok at chords. N The Donnas guitarist, she seems ok going by their new song. But I can't think of any that are fantastic.

Lady guitarists - how about Jennifer Batten and Susan Tedeschi ? How about the Dixie Chick who plays the dobro slide (amont other instruments) ?
And on topic, welcome to Guitar Tricks, Emily.

Jeniffer Batten is the queen of the guitar. She can bet the crap out of most of shredder as well. Sheīs really somthing. And herīs tapping technique...forget Eddie.

I had one with my guitar. I was about to style the hell out, and was about to do the flashyest thing wich is throwin your guitar behind the neck and hopfully catch it after it has circled around my body for 360* (thatīs the whole circle right).
Unfortunatly, the straps werenīt any good on the guitar so it flewd right in the floor. Blam. Fortunatly it was just a crappy guitar that nobody gave a damn about (it wasnīt mine of course) but funny thing, no damage was done. It was just to pick it up and play on.
Now thatīs flashy.

Hmmm...one time I was jamming with a band and as soon as we finished a song, my guitar broke off from the strap. Of course my hands weren't on it at this time, so it hit thr ground, but it's a sturdy Fender, so no damage.
Hey Emily, my guitar playing buddy, and bandmate, is from England. I am not sure how to spell it but it sounds like
Churtsy. I dunno, I can barely understand him half the time anyway. Haha, thats ok I like the british, after all some of the best bands in the world came out of Britain. My fav being The Rollnig Stones of course..

Right, so after I've got enough confidence, I decide to take the chrome plate off the neck pickup on my guitar. I asked around this site a bit and some people said that is was removable. So I take all the strings off, the pickgaurd, and notice I got enough room in there for a humbucker!!So I think everythings going good. So I put the pickup back in, the pickgaurd on, and all the strings except the last one. (Figures). So I turn the axe upside down to feed the string through the body, when I suddenly realize the pickup falling out of the groove. So, I tighten the screws up, but the pickup is right on my strings. Then I notice 2 little rubber stoppers, lying on the floor......That;s right, take everything back off again, put the little rubber things back inbetween the pickgaurd and pickup. Now everything's fine...but heres the ironic part (maybe its just bad luck) I never got the chrome part off the pickup because its got clips on the bottom tat are glued on. Yep that was my night....

ok i have a guitar story its not that funny [you probably had to be there] so if it sux im sorry:
my ex bass player lives in the outskirts of where i live [sheffield uk] its a very quiet area lots of old people very god fearing. anyway he had this really crap classical that he hated so we got very drunk. we started hitting each other with the guitar so igrabbed it and chased him outside down the street smashed it over his head [he wasnt hurt dont worry] problem being there was a policeman standing behind me so in true rock star fashion i started mouthing off and got arrested for drunk and disorderly.
not brilliant but i find stupid stuff like this funny
