When in doubt, ask some people who own the axe (http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data4/Schecter/S-1-Diamond-Series-01.html) you're curious about!. I love Harmony Central for this kind of thing.

I've always found scheters to be extremely hot, high-quality guitars for their price.

i heard that the Diamond Series were really good. which one did you get? i know most people use them for metal. i know Jerry Horton (Papa Roach) and Terry Corso (Alien Ant Farm) use Schecter guitars. who else uses schecter?

i noticed alot of metal guitarists with them, but i play punk rock, and its great, sounds awesome with the zoom effects pedal. i think the guy from rob zombie uses one, and theres alot more on there site, since they used to only make custom guitars.

small point here, but the Rob Zombie guitarist (Riggs) actually has a custom guitar from Fernandes.
i've heard of some punk bands using Schecter, but they sound pretty good for metal too.

Shcecter makes what could be called high-end non-high end guitars; i.e., their quality is usually on par with or better than the big two (Gibson, Fender) and often sounds better. The Diamond series are really nice instruments, you got a good deal dude, be proud of it, it's nicer than a lot of other stuff out there.
I played one of their Devil tribal guitars, and it was difficult to leave the building without it... also tried a neck-through, string through S-1 Elite that knocked my socks off.
