Ok..well enough talks of beck and malmsteen.

Have you guys heard about James Byrd? and Rusty Cooley? I found both of them a good guitarist.(i heard that James Byrd is the only guitarist Malmsteen endorse). If you guys know about them..tell me more about them, what you all think

I've been into Cooley for a while. He's a good instructor and has amazing technique. In terms of speed in that genre, Francesco Fareri wipes the floor with him, though.

There's lots of unknown shredders like Cooley out there. Tom Hess, George Bellas, Terry Syrek, Joe Stump, Marcel Coenen to name a few. Some are just mindless wankers (like Fareri and Bellas), while others (like Marcel Coenen)will cause you to become sterile after your jaw drops to your lap, crushing your genitals. It's all out there, just keep looking...

I've only heard some, but he manages to sound much more musical than Cooley. And he's hella fast, too.

Do you really like Rusty playing...It is a mess guys!It is just fast without melody...Even Malmsteen is better than him....He has a few good melody taken from Paganini..

Yeah. He played kinda messy music but he make me realise that there is still a lot of good shredders out there. Still, he is a good guitarist. :D

Dude Cooley's music sucks, I agree. But his technique is WAAAAAY beyond Yngwie's. Anyone who says he's a "mess" should really see his instructionals. Besides, if you've ever heard Yngwie play without distortion, you'll realize that he's not that good... Now THAT is a mess!

Cooley also does some advanced sweeping sequences that I doubt Malmsteen could pull off.
