Ok this is really stupid but does anybody else misplace picks as often as I do?
I swear I can buy 25 new picks and by the end of the weak they've all disappeared
into some alternate dimension or something.

What a thread ..LOL*
Hell..I used to lose more than a dozen of pick a month when i'm new to guitar. But now i kept the habit of placing the use pick back to my pick's container. Will never misplaced again :D

LOL

They easily get lost cuz they're too small ... I lose them all the time when I place them anywhere too.

After I finish playing , I usualy have my pick held between strings near the nut (1st or 2nd frett) cuz the strings have more tension there to hold the pick firmly ... They never get lost this way.

Try not to place them on stuff that are similar in color to the pick ... It's realy annoying to find a brown pick on your wooden desk, or a black one on your amp !

I have two picks in that little pocket you have on jeans.
I never go anywhere without 2 picks, and I dont think I've
ever lost a pick actually.
I always have like 10 picks I play with, and I always
out them in strange places where I forget them, but
ventually they always show up. Strange..

I think I carry more picks than money. I swear I have a pick in each pair of pants that I own.

I stopped loosing picks when I had enough "lost" picks lying around that dropping one lead to finding another. Now too many of those have been lost and I have to take more care!
There are little pick holder things with sticky backs and
spring loaded jaws that pass picks to you. Also I have a keyholder like a mountaineers carabina and this fits on the kind of pick that has a hole drilled in it. come to mention it, i can't find the bloody thing!

I'm constantly losing em. My carpet is exactly the same colour as my favorite type of pick so the second I drop one it's gone for good. I can't count the number of times I've only had one pick left, just got ready to hit the record button & then accidentally dropped the pick.
I crawl around looking for the thing until I'm all pissed off & swearing..."where the **** is it??" then I go looking for my flashlight and can't find that either....by the time I find the flashlight to find the pick, I'm so exhausted I don't feel like recording anymore.

I know this sounds stupid but I change about max. 2-3 pics/year. For me, losing a pick would be like almost like losing guitar. Itīs really good actally to play with same pick for a long time īcause itīs somehow adjust to your technique. For ex. I always play with one side and directly when I change the side I feel uncomfortable. Itīs sick I know but thatīs the way it is.

ive lost a fair share of picks, its amazing though that the only picks that never seem to get lost are the crappy ones that come in packets of strings.

i only have 3 picks. i always put them at the first fret between the low e and a strings. i never really lose picks. but i should get more though. and my pick i use with my Ibanez RG is black and it blends in with the fretboard, which is dark in colour. so i go around finding a spare pick to use and then when i get one and go to play i find the pick just sitting there. it's annoying.
but i don't really lose any picks.

I lose them so often that I buy them 100 at a time. I keep a constant stock of picks because I cant keep one for more than a day or so..

What you do is buy 100 of them and throw them all over the room, that way you'll always be able to find one when you drop it.

Depends on what I'm playing as far as thickness goes. No particular brand really as long as they are not cheap. I usually use Dunlop 60's for anything heavy and something thin for acoustic strumming and my fingers for acoustic picking.

i think i have a crack in the space-time continuum in my room. i swear i have lost up to 300 pics in the last few years ONLY in my room - i never lose picks anywhere else. my room where i record is 3.5 x 3.5 meters large and one should assume that once you have lost a certain number of pics you should find them again because they must be lying around everywhere.. well what can i say.. NOTHING!!! not a single pic in my entire room... and i play BIG STUBBY picks! 3mm!! - i think iīm slowly starting to lose my mind aswell.. and iīm afraid if i lose it in my room i wont find it either! its like magic - i dont even drop them.. i play a riff, put the guitar aside and place the pic next to it, and when i pick the guitar back up just a few moments later, the pick is gone!... i think they are coming for me.. they are watching me... i have nightmares of thousands of litlle purple big stubby picks under my bed.. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAA!!!!!

I use Dunlop Tortex picks, either the thin red ones, or the orange ones. I find that after a while they tend to get kind of shiny and smooth, and then I'm more likely to drop one while I'm playing. That freaks me out big-time, so I make sure I always have plenty of new ones around. I usually toss them when they start to get smooth. So I buy a lot of picks, but its not because they get lost.

Each guitar has a pick tucked into the strings, near the nut. Some of them have a spare pick wedged in between one of the pickups and the body. All of them have a few in the case. There's a small tray of them next to my practice amp. And I keep a few in my pocket. Now that I think about it, I've got 'em all over everywhere!

Dunlop Gator Grip 2.0mm gauge ... Nice grip , heavy attack , fast picking , less wearing .
I find them everywhere in my room too ! :D

Snap! I use JD 2 mms too, I really like the chamfeured edge and the recess for your thumb and finger joints. I use others too but only if I've lost my JDs.

I used to lose them, but these days I throw inside my guitar when I'm finished, then it's such A PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!! to get it out. You'd think I've solved a problem.
But hey,how much of a fourth dimension can there be inside a guitar. Not much,as opposed to a whole room.
This would be an idea.Go buy a bucket full of them things. Then go to your room and flip it around like a pack of cornflakes. You can't fail to find one.
