My section is getting a little lenghty in the theory section and I'm trying to expand on the others a little. Any suggestions from the public on what they want to see?

how about a chord progression that could double as a loop in the jam section? we haven't had any new jams in a while and we are always long on lead and short on chords around here.

I was wondering how to post to the jam section. Now to find something worthwhile to jam to.

good point. mp3s don't loop. the jam uses wav files.
in future I'll fix this. for now, make a wav that loops, change it to an mp3, put it in your section, and drop me a note telling me to make it a jam file.
I'll take it from there.
Thanks!

What I would like to see here on this site in general, is some more power cord stuff. Like progressions, palm muteing. I love leads in all, but im more of a rythem(<-Spelled right?) player than lead...

Simple. Take this shape:
--1--
--1--
--2--
--3--
--3--
--1--
... and slide it around the neck, strumming quickly to a punk beat.

Loner - that was a Major Barre Chord with the root on the E string. I think what the fellow wants may be these:
e----------
B--------5-
G-----4--4-
D--4--4--2-
A--4--2----
E--2-------
With the root being on the lowest string played. There are also some other power chords that use all of the strings, or at least more than 3, such as:
e--3---0------
B--3---0------
G--0---9------
D--0---9------
A--x---7------
E--3---0------
...G5...E5
Then, theres this:
e---2--
B---2--
G------
D------
A------
E--(2)-
With the root being on the E string. The (2) is optional, and you would usually try to fret if with your thumb, if you can reach around that far.
That's all for now-

For punk music? The major barre chord is the standad for punk music. Complexitly is normally shunned in it.

Maybe my UN mislead you.. Im not really into punk just Misfits. I don't really like happy fun punk, neo punk, or political punk, execpt for the Sex Pistols, and Bad Religon.
Im more into Metal, Industrial, Death Metal.. But a true misfits fan at heart.. My style is like Cannibal Corpse meets Danzig, meets Trent Reznor.. I like to call it, Industrial Punk Metal. And thanx for all the stuff on power chords.
