Hey, how would one go about developing a faster downstroke-only picking technique (like james hetfield master of puppets)? Is it just brute force muscle exercise like just doing it alot and just get going faster, or would you practice some kind of finesse? I'd love to hear varying advice people have to give. Thanks.

This technique is not easy at the beginning like any other technique ... It will take sometime to develope , just keep practicing & focus on accuracy and clearliness of the notes.

Yeah, his downstriking technique was the hardest on both "Master" & "Justice" albums .

And before trying "Master" or "Blackened" , I recomend easier ones like "Harvester" or "Justice" .

Our if you want to kill your self, try downstroking the whole Kill Em All album LOL.

I saw Jason (downstroke those 16-notes triplets in One (darkness...part). Pretty impressive.

I figure, if those guys donīt end up with injury, nowone will.

(PS, I know that Jason retired īcause of an injury but it was some kind of neck injury. Probably īcause of headbanging).
