I was "blessed" with the gift of haveing all my fingers on both hands and the thumb on my right hand being double jointed. I thought this was a gift until I started playing guitar. Now my problem is my pinky on my fret hand, anytime I use it for exesive amounts it locks up and it is quite weak, even though i have been grip exercising and playing with it more than i normally did for the last few months. Is there any known cure for this??? anything i could do medically to get rid of the problem, anything at all, i would appreciate the help.
Thank You

Keep practicing and the problem will probably sort its self out !

I cant explain it
I have some friends with wierd abilities in their fingers like the ability to bend both forward and backwards to the extent that would break the finger if a normal guy like me tried to do it... And they are very talented guitarists too .
If you have something a little different you just need to find a method of using it for your own benifit ... Who knows , this different thing might makes you better with some techniques that are hard for a normaly fingered hand.
Work your mind & practice.

The major problem i have is only with my pinky. its the fact that it locks up on me and only the end joint move, and it moves independently. I cant strengthen it much because it locks and hurts and it ads a lot of stain. I have gotten slightly better at it. I know I need to find away to overcome it, there have been plenty of guitarist that have over come disabilities, one of my favorites being Django Reinhardt. I am sure all I have to do is keepworking with it, but I was also wondering if there are shortcuts and maybe to hear from others with the same problem.
