Circles Tapping

hey just one quick question. In the Satch tune Circles, he breaking into this frantic tapping part, there are some slides in there according to the tab book. Id just like to know whether satch uses the side of the pick to tap this or his finger becuase whenever i use my finger i just cant seem to get the sound.

Usualy you should use your fingers for tapping, but for very fast repeated tapping like this one (and "surfing with the alien") it's easier to use the edge of the pick.
