wahjoe, The mg100dfx has a 100W output, which you probably know (do you need that much power !?). The mg30dfx only has a 10" ? brand speaker, compared to the 12" Celestion in the 50 and 100. If you're used to the sound of the 50, you may be dissapointed with the 30. Personally, for around the same money, I would buy a small 30-40W all tube amp combo. Maybe you could find one used in your area.

The insurance company will have an assessment done, to calculate the cost of repairs. Since they invariably base this cost on brand-new factory parts, and a high shop-rate, they may decide to write-off the bike.
Unless it was crashed hard, you can probably buy the wreck back from the insurance company, do the repairs yourself with scrapyard parts, and have money left over for FX.
As a bike-riding string-slinger, I can tell you that you will eventually get the urge to ride, and you'll need to have a bike of some kind, as well as your music gear.
