Hey, not that it matters or anything but I was just wondering how old you all are and how long you've been playing guitar?

I'm 16 and I've been playing for almost one year. (In about a week will be the one year anniversary since I first decided on a whim to pick up the old peice of junk in the basement and learn how to play, and also when I discarded my previous attraction to rap hip/hop which was "in style" and embraced my newfound passion for rock and roll).

35. playing since 1980. I was inspired by a good friend who owned a Les Paul. He worked all summer to buy it (back then a Std. cost $750 new) so I got a cheap iumport copy that required a kung fu grip to play and a solid state Ampeg amp with a 8" speaker which, no joke, lasted about 40 min. after I got it home. We cranked out Neil Young tunes for a long time until his fater, a freaked out fundamentalist on a crusade against Satan, smashed his LP to pieces on the side of their brick house. Ouch.
It's been a long strage trip. ;-)

Holiday. We( my family) spent some time in NYC, that was pretty cool, and then we flew to VB. There was, though, some musicians that played on the atlantic? boulevard. They seemed bored ( the played irish music) but they were good.

I'm 47 and have been playing since 1959. My older brothers were taking guitar lessons (Ventures, etc.) and I bugged them until they showed me how to play what they learned. I have played off and on for all those years, but about 5 years ago I started playing regularly again.

I'm 17 and have been playing for 2 years now. Never took lessons, I just used books & stuff and spent (still do) several hours a day playing. I'm actually left handed, but I play guitar right handed. I've always wondered if this would affect my playing since guitar takes both hands to play, does aybody know?

I am 41 and have been playing for about 4 years. Played keyboards in bands from the time I was 12 until I was about 25, then did sound and lights for a few years and now I am finally doing what I wanted to do all along!

Well this is my first post. Anyways...
Im 21 and started to play a bit at 18 but just now actually "playing". I have no theory knowledge and im not that good. I can play songs of tab websites but I actually want to learn "how to play" as in theory. Any suggestions so im not stuck playing AC/DC tabs for the rest of my life.

i dunno. somebody on the first page of this thread said he had a kung fu grip guitar. i think he meant one where the action is really bad and you have to grip it real hard.
