Double stops

Are they 2 note chords in solos or when you play the smae note twice in a row for affect. Ive read both are double stops!!!

there are two notes at once. check out chuck berry's johnny b. goode. They can be any two notes, but at once, its inbetween a melody note and a chord of 3 notes or more.
