"Distortion followed by wah sounds very different from wah fol-lowed
by distortion.The former (distortion, then wah) causes the
Wah-Wah to make a very overstated, duck-like “quacking”. The
opposite way around (wah, then distrotion) is much more subtle."

Tahts from the maual and my wah quacks!! how do i put the distortion on after the way!?!?! effects pedal?

two possibilities:

guitar -> wah -> effects(distortion,reverb,etc) -> amp

or

guitar -> effects -> wah -> amp

I forget, but I think that putting a pedal through the effects loop places it after your preamp.

So, it may change the sound if you put the wah through the effects loop of your amp (if it has one), and the rest of your effects the usual way, i.e. guitar -> effects -> amp.

I think I remember trying this, but the sound was too weak and there were too many cords involved, so I gave it up.

Effects loops will only process part of the signal. This is OK for delay type effects but no good for distortion or compression effects. Id be cautious about using the wha in the effects loop. Im not saying dont do it, by all means experiment. I like the whole signal to go through the wha which is why I use it in the effects chain before inputting into an amp.

Id try different effects in different places on your chain first.

in that case its difficult to get the wah after the distortion unless you have a lineout where u go into a PA instead of using the amp itself.. then you could put the wah between the amp and the PA (or wherever you are puting the signal in)
