Steve Vai
06-25-2000, 12:40 PM
One of my friends stumbled upon this site and told me to check it out. I am surprised in all the work that has gone into this site. I am not here, though, to offer my services. I am sorry but I am a very busy man. However, I will be stopping by from time to time and will try to post info on my tours and such. By the way BadHorsie, love the name, lol!

Hmmm....a hoax? or has Mr. Vai really found his way to this great site?...Is there any way we can be sure....well, yes, ask him to post a sound file...whether he does is a different matter....this could become VVVVERyY interesting....

I've read a lot of Vai interviews and what not, and this doesn't exactly sound like him, but I could be wrong. I gota figure this one out. Of course, the probable hoaxer could be watching all this and laughing...

Well, if this really is the real Vai, then thanks for stopping by. If not, that's a pretty funny joke. Just know that it gets old really quick.

I don't buy it. As a matter of fact maybe I'll submit broncobuster@hushmail.com to a few mailing lists. http://www.guitarforums.com/gtubb/wink.gif

Wait, I just thought of something... well, I'm sure you guys have too. If this was the real Vai, wouldn't his email be SteveVai @ SteveVai.com? Maybe I'm wrong but I think that's what he uses on the site that's posted. Damn! I was hopin' it was the real deal, knew it really wasn't, but was hopin' ya know.

I think it was a hoax, too, but I'm not sure someone as famous as Mr. Vai would go around giving out his email address. Personally, I've gotten a few hoaxes myself from comments forwarded from Guitartricks.com, so I know his address isn't Vai@vai.com or SteveVai@vai.com because I've tried them and they don't exist.

I don't think there is a way to tell if someone famous here is for real or not, unless it's painfully obvious they aren't.

i'm pretty sure that the real Vai would have a vai.com address. i checked out hushmail.com, and it's basically an extremely secure Hotmail. also, why would his signature include an ad for his site? but don't worry, BadHorsie, there's still a chance it's really him.

hey, here's a question for Mr. Broderick - what would happen if Stevie here won the Bad Horsie?

Bwahahaha. That's hilarious! I don't think he should be eligible, if it really is him. If not, then won't he have to identify himself to get the prize?

Yeah and what is up with this not offering services bit? Is he running an escort service?
By the way speaking of Vai, in the Attitude Song, he does this one wierd sweeping thing, and I can't figure it out, anyone know the part that I am talking about?
I am off like ...... well I am just off

KingB

Ok I figured out the sweep I was talking about in The Attitude Song with some help from Jere, thanks Jere!

Here's what I think on the whole Vai thang- If I was the greatest guitarist in ze world, I would go under a psudoname so that I didn't have a bunch of jackholes bothering me. That's what I think...

Buzz
06-28-2000, 11:22 PM
So then Steve Vai using his real name is okay right? I mean since he's not the greatest guitarist in the world, Stanley Jordon is........ Just kidding.

Why use a false name maybe he's lonely and needs attention.

Buzz

LOL.. yeah right, like 15 groupies isn't enough.

Steve Vai
06-29-2000, 08:25 PM
Actually, I don't have a whole lot of groupies anymore. It seems like now I can walk down the street and hardly anyone notices me. Back in the '80s when I was with David Lee Roth was a totally different story. I'd have to say that was what really boosted my career and let me be as adventageous with the guitar as I am today. I'm not surprised that you guys don't really think it's me though. That's okay, you don't have to. Just think of me as another board member that can answer your questions.

I think the real Steve Vai would be too busy
working on his sweep-picking and coming up with different Lydian Major runs, instead of giving us the time of day in a debate as to if it is really is him or not. If it is the real Steve Vai, why don't you tab out that arpeggio lick I was talking about at 3:24 of the Attitude Song?
http://www.guitarforums.com/gtubb/smile.gif

magnus
06-30-2000, 04:51 AM
the arpeggios are:

E-14-17------------
B-------15-------15
G----------14-16---

repeat those 5 times... at an extremely high
speed.

KingB

There you have it, Magnus is the real Steve Vai, and Steve Vai is just an impersonator!
That was good Mag, now can you transcribe that really wild tapping lick he does at the end of Answers on the G3 live tape? http://www.guitarforums.com/gtubb/smile.gif LOL

Does Steve Vai bust broncos?

And Steve is way too cool to use "lol".

I think we've all established that this isn't the real Vai. So instead of wasting our time trying to prove this, why don't we all just treat him as another board member as was mentioned before. Sounds better than just arguing over something that neither side can prove don't you think? Also, not trying to flame anybody but, some of the things being said on this post I just have to laugh. For instance: "Steve Vai doesn't talk like that", "Steve Vai wouldn't do that", "Steve Vai wouldn't waste his time with..."... Does anyone here know Steve Vai. Okay then. Yes, I can see where you're all coming from but if you would take a step back and read some of the posts almost everyone, including myself, has written about Mr. Vai like they're friends with him. So once again, let's just treat him as another board member. And if you see this, Schmange, please close this thread. It's really not going anywhere and I don't think that Steve Vai will be deleting it to relieve all of us from this bull$hit. Keep rockin'. That goes to the real Steve Vai.

Accusing me for being Steve Vai... I'm honoured.

Hey Jon if you sponsor me with a pedal, I'll put your name in the sleeve in my next album.

Hey, speaking of pedals... when do we find out who won the Bad Horsie? Just wondering because I see that there is now a Boss pedal up for grabs so I figured that someone had to win the Bad Horsie.
