For the life of me I cannot nail that acoustic riff twice in one day. It frustrates the hell outa me and I was wondering if anyone else had that same problem.

It's very simple but the tempo is pretty fast and for some reason I always end up muting a string or hitting a wrong note.

Its easier if you finger-pick it, (as written), but I fake it out with a plectrum so I can play the rest of it too. If you know what to play, there's nothing else for it but to play it a lot.
