I saw this referenced on another site when someone was talking about Stevie Ray Vaughan. I haven't heard of this before? Can someone explain what tremolo picking is??

It's where you repeatedly pick one note at a very fast pace before moving on to another. So if you were playing a scale using tremelo picking, each note would be picked several times in a row. Get it?

an example of that is smooth by santana, i'm sure you've heard it, you know towards the end where he plays the solo, at the end of the solo he plays this part on the g string where he's picking one note really fast and moving up to the next note.

it's like:

G-9-9-9-9-9-10-10-10-10-11-11-11-11-12-12-12-12-13-13-13-13-14-14-14-15-15-15-16-14

I see. Yeah, I know what you mean, Jake. Just before the chorus kicks back in. Thanks for the replies.
