well thats the first song i've ever written and I wrote it one night when I found out about how one of my good friends was physically abused by her dad. What you guys think?

A song is everything;the lyrics,the melody,the way you sing it,the arrangements,everything.
It's kinga hard to rate a song on the strength of it's lyrics alone.
Aerosmith's "I don't wanna miss a thing" was written by Dione Warren.I can imagine if she'd given those lyrics to,say,Britney Spears,or Toni Braxton,the end result would have been very different from that song as you know it(assuming you know it),even tho' the words would be exactly the same.
