I want to compete at Guitar War and I need to know how to make MP3s. Can somebody help me out? My name at Guitar War is Napolean so vote for me if you see my song. It won't be to good I have only been playing for a month and a half but I have a song that is decent that could get me some votes.

you have to get an mp3 encoder. I think SoundJam MP does that, but I don't know if it's Mac only or not. However, their are plenty of mp3 encoders for the PC if you happened to buy one.
*please note that I'm a Rabid Mac User, and I'm going to great lengths to restrain myself.

Is it a program or a piece of equipment? If it is a program can you name any sites where I could download one?

I'm in the same boat with my old Mac Quadra. I can't even make MP3's. So far Jon's been awesome about converting em for me but I gotta upgrade soon or I'm gonna go nuts.

ok, you need a combonation of software and equipment to do this. SoundJam MP (or whatever I'm thinking of that does this) is Software, but it needs your song to be on your hard drive first (in aiff format, or whatever). You'll have to capture your sound in one way or another, then encode that into an mp3 using SoundJam (or whatever mp3 encoder you may use).
This is why I'm putting about $3000 into my current computer as soon as I get my PowerMac G(5, 6, 7, who knows (considering the rate at which I earn money)).
