How can I get a good sound like Malmsteen,Hammett,Friedman and Jason Becker? I used a Line6 Pod2 and Fender Rock Pro 1000 Amp. Someone got an idea?

I'm not familiar with your effects processor, but if you want a heavy metal sound, one thing you can try is to drop your mids, and kick up your highs and lows on your amp equalization.
If you want Malmsteen's exact settings for some of his stuff go to
This has exact settings for his guitar, amp, effects processor, etc.

I agree boosting the bass and treble and cutting the mids will help also I would get an overdrive pedal in addition to your pod. Try the "crunch" setting on the pod. Unfortunatley you will probally need more gear to get that Malmsteen sound. All the guys you referenced are pro's with endless pockets of cash that are probally constantly furthering their tone with new and high tech gear. I would suggest sticking to analog pedals they sound so much better than the digital proponents.

Use a high gain amp model, but don't use too much distortion. Put a small amount of a small reverb(room) inthere, maybe some chorus to add depth. As far as EQ goes, I'm going to contradict the other two posters. Do not cut the mids, for lead guitar they are very much needed.

I was mainly referring to the crunchy rythm however also for soloing. The absence of midrange is the easiest way to get that medal sound. I would try it out and see for yourself. I would also use reverb not too heavy though. More than anything get a good distortion box. Check out http://www.harmonycentral.com for help choosing one.
