kazaa sucks a$$!!!
Its got a little sleeper program in it that steals all the bandwidth when it awakens. Its also got the most irritating adds that have sounds that screw around with your mp3 playing programs.

kazaa=poo

I just kicked this guys' ass on another board because he was bragging he had Joe Satriani's new album (before its release) and that he was his biggest fan.
If you are a fan, buy the CD. Or else, I'll kick your virtual ass...

Hell yeah . . . anyone who downloads and pirates Satch should be shipped to Riyad in a box and have their hands cut off.

Satriani is one of the few musicians these days who actually works hard at his music, and each one his albums has been a new achievment. He definitely deserves to be supported.

That's very easy to say, and i agree that cd's are both ethically and sonically superior to mp3s. However it's not extremely easy to get a hold of stuff like allan holdsworth, shawn lane and frank gambale in the terribly mtv-oriented cd stores that our society is overflowing with. And if you do happen to find them, chances are that it's their one or two "famous" albums or something. And who the hell wants to go about ordering cds over the internet? Although I personally don't, many people simply refuse to purchase anything over the internet because they feel it isn't safe. Besides, who wants to wait a month or whatever for a f*ckin' cd?! I believe that musicians will just have to find a way to work with it, since there is really no way of stopping it.

quite true. But if you are a dedicated fan, you can make a lifetime search of your artists CDs or LPs... That's what I do with lots of guitarists, and it's quite fun, going to garage sales etc... When you find the CD you've been looking for during 5 years, and you pay it a buck, with the nice little dinosaur action figure!!!

I've lived in Norway for fourteen years of my life. Been living in Switzerland for one year. Neither of the countries facilitate any non-mainstream music interests.

You haven't been searching in the right spots. Half of the biggest non-mainstream labels are from Europe, and I sometimes find stuff in conventions, in stores, on the net (even though you are scared to order, I've done it for several years, and still nothing, well only once, but it was BEFORE I went on the net, some guy just created my Visa number)just look around, there's a crowd for every genre, so there's a scene, so there's a store...

You haven't been to norway, have you?... lol. But seriously, it's not that easy when you're a teenager anyway. Usually you don't even have your own credit card, and although i have ordered guitar parts over the net countless times, my parents are not gonna let me order cds over th net when they know i can download them for free...

Btw, you wanna come by the wah-wah discussion in the gear forum? Some guy is claiming that Vai doesn't play wth soul. Wanna help me with scolding him? ;)

I'm actually rebuying every CD I have burnt in my teenage years, so that the artists get their rights.

See, i also do that. But i wait until i've had the mp3 for a while, so that i know that i really like the song(s). If i don't, then i'll just not buy the cd, but i'll also delete the song(s).
