You know, I was wondering when Rap/metal was invented? Do you like it? What's your opinion on rap/metal?

I think Anthrax did it first. I wish they had never done it, rap metal sucks.

Yeah I think for the most part it sucks too. Definatly limp bizkit and korn suck, although I like RATM. They actually sound good, and Tom Morrello is a good guitarist. The intensity and subject matter of their songs make rapping it kind of justified I think.

Korn is rap/metal? I wouldn't say that, but that's just me. And I don't think they really suck either, I just don't like them very much. Besides, Feildy's tone sucks.
the first Metal/rap combo was anthrax and the first rock/rap combo was Aerosmith. Personally i think it's gone down hill after Anthrax and Cypress hill got together.

not all down hill, as James said, RATM is still good. I whish they diverged more from political songs and did more on social issues (ex: Revolver). But they have a depth to them that alot of the new stuff simply lacks.

I just posted a good argument for this in "Korn sucks, right?". I'd retype it but I'm lazy.

I think it started around when KoRn came out, but Korn isn't rap metal, and Korn doesn't suck. Limp Bizkit is one of the firsts and they suck just like most of them.
