I have had an mxr distorion+ pedal for over a year now and still works great. I dont use it that much and i dont travel in a band, but all of the Dunlop pedals i have come across are built to last. It has alot of sound variations from Black Sabbath to some Joan Jett. I definately reccomend you check one out.

I bought a MXR Distortion +, in 79 or 80, had it about 5 years, still have a MXR Dyna-Comp of the same vintage that works great, MXR was top quality stuff, I never had a single problem, but as with all vintage gear, alot depends on how the previous owners treated it, so buyer beware..

Yea, i'd take the opportunity and buy it, i have had one for 6 months and it still works perfect. has some very nice tones, yea, randy rhoads did have one, thats how he used to get that nice crunchy warm overdrive sound. These things are great quality too. Built like a tank! very sturdy none of that cheap plastic rogue or ibanez stuff, this is the best.
