Online Collaborations

How do you do this and how can I contribute? I think this is a great Idea. The users of this site have varied backgrounds and styles we could come up with a whole new sound. The possibilities are endless.

Christoph did an online collab once, but nothing ever realy came out of it as far as i know.

I´m not sure, but i think it would be cool to do such a collab.. but we whould need a good plan, for there are several difficuities like different recording qualities n stuff...

any ideas?

Not true! Skee1 laid down some blazing blues licks over a simple backing track that I put together. As far as I'm concerned, it was a success.

As for the overall collab group . . . well, that's another matter.

The only I idea I have is for a few people to record some riffs e-mail them to the other people kind of a chain letter that gets bigger and better except its more of a chain song everybody has so much time to contribute before going on to the next person. Does that sound like a good idea? We would have to agree on a format and randomize the order however.

I mean, i could put some work into the yahoo group... if anyone's intrested... i've already put some stuff up but there's been no response... :(
I'll put the adress up for anyone intrested... I mean, the christoph/ skee1 thing i tought was a great sucess (too great if you ask me... almost like they cheated... hahahahah), yeah I've still to get it in it's entirity though

I know what you mean about not getting the whole thing though. I don't know what the deal with Skee was, but he kept cutting the file in the middle. I asked him to just record his solo in a separate track using ACID and then send it to me so I could mix it. But alas, he never did.

You have to convert yer yahoo-account .. somehow.. this is done in the personal preferences... on the mainpage of groups.yahoo there is a lil description of how it is done.. you get a number per email which u have to enter somewhere in order to unlock yerself for joining the groups.

Lord: um... You need to join the group (it'll say on the home page, it'll have a link saying "join this group!", just click on that, and follow the instructions)... having a yahoo acount isn't really enough...
the more members around the more likely this turkey will get off the ground... once you join the group.. the "files"/ "messages"/ "post"/ "members" etc etc links on the left handside will be activated... and that's it.. you can go about your biusness freely...
Christoph: I'll check your part of the forum, but i cant edit anything... which is something i only noticed a whie ago... is that moderators can only edit their parts... but yeah, if there's any trouble i'll e-mail jon... Take care.

I'm having major trouble with my pc at the mo... and i cant access alot of site... including yahoo and hotmail.... :(, I'll try to find a way round though...
