At first, I didn't care much for the show, but it grows on you as you watch it. However, it isn't the greatest anime out there. Check out some Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, and Escaflowne (I think that's how you spell it). Those are awesome. Also, some good anime movies to check out: Akira (of course), Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D (original version, the sequel isn't that great but still worth watching if you like the original), and Princess Mononoke.

By the same author, Dr SLUMP is far more funny. Actually, Akira TORIYAMA started hating the show (DBz) when it started being serious, and now, there's Dragonball GT, and he doesn't have anything to do with the show. Talking about money...

I nominate this question to the 'least likely to be asked' thread we had going.

Well, let's say Japanese fans love the kind of instrumental music we all love on this site (mr Big, Racer X, Cacophony, and other bands only we have heard about) and DBz is from..Japan, tadaaaaaaa.... So we have 2 things in common with Japanese dudes...

You know, that's one thing I can't stand about DBZ. There is a mix of seriousness along with goofy comedy. It doesn't go together. In the earlier ones, Dragon Ball, it works because it keeps that silly tone through the whole thing. It's very inconsistent in DBZ. They should just stick with the serious aspect and leave the comedy to a minimum.

I think its a cool show. My main problem with it though, is that they will drag out one fight seen for 15 shows. But other tha that its cool.
