Does anyone have a DOD GS30 model effects processor and if so, has anyone attempted to get the same sound as Angus via this pedal?

Nope. I just know he uses that Guild guitar and heavy assed strings. I'd suspect he pretty much goes right into the amp he's using.

Doesn't Angus Young use an SG? Or am I just naieve enough to think that because he has a signature model out, he actually uses something siilar? However, it has been often said that Angus gets the cable from his guitar and plugs it straight into a big fat cranked amp. There is little substitute, frustrating as that may be.

Thats right, Angus plugs his axe straight into the amp...no effects whatsoever except what's built into his rig, which basicly has only a fat gain knob.

If you ever stand in front of his amp, you'll notice. He knows only two settings: Everything on ten, and Off...

I guess what I was getting at was this:

Is there anybody that has attempted to "simulate" the sound via this pedal? I realize what you all are saying, but there is a disctinct sound that Angus has with amplifiers and equipment I am lacking. A pedal can simulate this with the various effects it has built into it.

I have seen one other pedal manufacturer that actually has a preset known as "Angus" when you are flipping thru the presets built into it. I believe it is a Digitech brand.

Well, I guess ha has a sound that cannot really be duplicated with a pedal, since it is essentially made with volume and valves...

Maybe I was thinking of Malcom...

Can't say that I'm much of an AC/DC fan.

The best thing you can do is play with the different distortion effects and your eq to try to get something that to your ear sounds close. Don't bother with other effects, just use your ears. It may be frustrating to be told this, but I use to spend countless hours trying to recreate Jimi Hendrix's sound on a pedal board to get something that was less than a shadow of what he had with a Marshall stack and a couple of pedals.
