Azrael forwarded me some of those celtic tabs that you had scanned. So first of all, thanks for scanning them in! And second of all, do you have any mp3s or midis so I can hear how these are supposed to go?

I wish :)

That's probably the reason why I never played them. I don't really know what they sound like. I'll make a search for the songs on my side. They are mostly traditional songs so they've got to be out there somewhere. I'll let you know if I get something.

Do you think you could send some my way as well?
It's stringdancer@ematic.com

Oh, I saw that one on there, but it was unavailable. I'll try later on.

James, if you like celtic music, you're gunna love these. I'd recommend starting out with Lagan Love (it's pretty easy), and then moving on to "Si bheag si mhor" and then "Stor mo chroi". (LOL . . . I have no idea what these titles mean)

P.S. The mixolydian mode rocks!

James, you have all the tabs!!!

I scanned them for you, remember? All this thing started with you asking about celtics songs on another thread.

If you want the mp3's, that's another story. Too big for e-mail.

Do you have ICQ? my # is 145500795 we can probably work something out for the mp3's.

any chance of sending some of it my way? :)
i've never understood the whole Mix, loc, dor, modes thing... to me they're manipultad the same way major scales are... but then again i've got an unusual way of working (simply drawing out all the notes in the scale on a sketch of the frett board, and doing what i damn well please :D.. it sounds more liberated)...

Benoit . . . any chance of getting that ftp server of yours up and running? I don't use ICQ, so just drop me an email telling me when you're gunna turn it on.

Ed . . . feel free to post in the Music Theory forum, and we'll help you out. :D

I have a lesson about modes on my website. It's really basic since I learned modes not too long ago.

Go into lessons and chords and scales.

Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór - Little fairy, big fairy
Stór mo chroí - mo chroí means "my heart", not sure about stór(product of not doing my goddam Irish homework)

Hope that helps

Yub, Sí bheag is a great song - I have it on a tape somewhere by Planxty. Im guessing you only have the tab/music. Good songage.
