I just wondered what everybody thought of video
lessons on the web compared to just sound files?
Really with short film clips you can see where
the left hand fingers are placed plus whats going
on with the right hand.
I think this will be the future of Guitar web sites,
that have licks, lessons and tricks with sound, tab ect.
Another question how many web sites have you
seen that show videos along with sounds?
Most tabs don't tell you where to place your fingers
for your left hand or tell you whats going on with the
right hand.

I've been trying to find such videos on KaZaA and likes but those are mostly Malmsteen type of instruction videos that doesn't help me really. Maybe a bit too complicated. Found some Paul gilbert who's good at explaining but I wouldn't mind a bunch more instruction videos.
Hope anyone knows a good place for this stuff. =)

not really, i'm on 56k... and i've found ONE site so far, but it was very good, you get like 6 or 7 second clips... which is very good for sweep picking... I'll raid through my history to find it... it was pretty good..

I wanted to put videos on my website but they take too much space.
I decided to give Soundclips, Html Tab, Powertab and midi files for all my licks. I mean that's a lot right there.
I'm all set up for making avi's. It takes me enough time as it is to support my website that I can't really put more.
Basically what I wanted to say is that video are cool but take too much space and a lot of time to edit.

I personally use Windows media encoder, which makes your files a LOT smaller... Like from 10mo to 140 Ko!!!! It's more compression than mp3 does to audio!!!

Your right Benoit
They take up alot of space plus the loading time
is real long if you go past a few mins recording the video
also some servers won't let you use the new
format that windows xp use's with its new movie maker
including geocities.
They will let you use avi but if your not paying
for your website they will shut your page down
if your page gets more than a few surfers playing
your videos.
