See if you can get a more consistant job. Here's why:
Lower Taxes
No Rent
No Car (hence no need to spend money on gas, insurance, repairs...). Of course this limits your job options too.
Parents pay for food...
Your cost of living is as low as it's ever going to be. Bust your ass, save your money, and that guitar will be yours. Oh yes, it will be yours.

very true...but ya know when i turn 15 or 16, thats when they really start giving you hours. my brother worked 4 hours every day in the summer, he got $4000. that would be enough to get a nice PRS. he's a concert goer who doesnt play guitar, and spends all his money on weed and concerts, so none of it is left now lol, but for me at least i'll have something permanent...
i can see the abalone bird inlays now...drool
OH yeah...the 24 fret PRS is definately a players dream.
what sort of style do u play? There are actually all kinds of considerations involved before u even dream about getting a PRS. What kind of tone are looking? R u into chunky necks? Lemme know... By the way i'm from Malaysia and a 24 fret would probably costs in my currency, 26 to 30 thousand

heh.. I dont understand the whole PRS thing... they LOOK trendy (being all neat and tidy, and well defined looking)... but the sound of a PRS is way over rated, and the prices way over priced... Sure those little tinkers are mahogany, so what? (My guitar that I'm making is gonna have a mahonagy neck, and maybe mahogany body, depeding on how much money i'll have left, and wether i get the less expensive mahogany, or pull out the stops and buy the Brazilain stuff...mmmmmmmm, so mellow sounding)...
Personally, I think they're ridiculous... To me the preties guitars are the Vox Tear Drop series (especailly the sunburst hollow bodies), or Good ol' Rickenbackers.... but really, it's all just taste...
Anyhoo, look for a second hand one, you may get a decent one for just 3 figures...
In lera it'd be millions (if not billions)... but you gotta be quick for the ol lira, they stop using in a couple of months and the Euro will reign supreme...
happy hunting...

Well, PRS guitars are VERY well made. It's not entirely brand name there. Of course, they aren't my brand of choice either.
One thing you may want to consider is PRS is now making a budget axe - It's around $500 through Musician's Friend. Personally I'd save my money (if you're going to go budget, Dean makes a pretty decent PRS-ish guitar).
