Hi!
I'm looking for an electric guitar to replace my current old acoustic one. As I am just a beginner I do not want a really good/expensive one. Any recommendations for guitars or helpful websites that would help me make a decision? Thanks for your help!

Fender Squier Stratocaster. Great value for the money and versatile. Amps in the starter packs should have passable clean channel, but if you have a big enough budget, I'd recommend getting the guitar separate and a better amp.
The Squier is going to do you pretty well and you'll even have the option of doing upgrades later on; it's the amp that will be the weak link. For a couple hundred, you should be able to get a new Fender VibroChamp XD. A Squier Strat + VC (maybe $400ish in total) would be a nice rig, and the amp will be something worth keeping even if you get all famous. :)

Razbo gives good advice but I would also suggest getting the set up sorted by a good Tech if you know one. I bought a cheap Chinese Telecaster but had it set up and the result is an easy to play guitar which is great fun. I bought a Roland Microcube, which models about six different amp sounds, to practise in house;
second hand from Ebay. Take your time and do some research, try a few for comfort and feel and as someone else said; wait for the one that speaks to you!
