Hello everyone,

I'm trying to record myself to hear how I sound but the volume of the guitar on my PC is really weak.
I use Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS interface (24bit), my speakers: 5.1 logitec. The volume on the interface is max, on the speaker it's max, on the recording software it's also max, but yet still I can barely hear the guitar without any backing track. At same volume with audio it's way to loud, neighbors won't be allowed to even think.
Is there any software that can boost my guitar volume? What do you all recommend?

Thanks much
Kenpro

two ideas for you:

You could plug into the mic input on your audigy (it will then be too loud, so turn everything down first)

or

You could use an effects pedal or mixer with a volume control on the guitar before plugging it into the PC line-in.

Hope that helps.

Jon

It sure does.
Is it a coincidence or what? I Google "guitar volume on pc" and found this:
http://www.guitarz-for-ever.com/how-to-plug-a-guitar-or-bass-into-a-computer.html
I knew the name rang a bell. Anyways I'm going to grab my Rocktron Utopia G300 to see how it does.

It sure works great, now am the happiest man. Thank you, thank you.

Still would like to know if there is any software that could aid the guitar to get louder on the PC though.

How about plugging into an external amplifier attached to decent speakers?
since laptops are not famous for their high audio output.
