Deff Need Help! :(

ok so i can write riffs and all but i dont know how to put a rhythm behind it.like if im doing a riff in an Am blues scale what chords can i use to make the backing chord progression.and also if anyone could answer how i would find out what chords to use no matter what scale im playing would help aloooooot thanks :)

my knowledge on music theory isn't that advanced to tell you exactly what chords you need but I can tell you that depending on what scale you play, you should play chords that have notes from that scale, the chords are always dependent on the scale

I'm waiting for someone to tell exactly how to find those chords :D

no problem :) I like metal, but only when it's tight and precise (I sometimes listen to pantera, lamb of god or unearth), otherwise it sounds too messy, part of me wants to play metal but somehow I can't hold rhythm, I'm going too fast and losing my control, like there's this aggression that wants to get out, it's more spasm playing than actual controlled playing ><

you just need to relax thats the best way to be fast is relax and just focus on what notes you need to hit and count the rhythm

in Amin pentatonic you use the notes; C-D-E-G-A

you can play Amin, Amin7, Cmaj, Cmaj7, Dsus4, Gsus4 to name a few :) these are the 'safe' chords as I like to call them, they've got all the notes in them that the scale has, you can however use chords with some notes that aren't in the scale but that's beyond my knowledge :)

the A-minor Blues scale is the same scale only with an added flatted 5th, the famous 'blue note', in this case it's the D# or Eb, you figure out which chords you can play now :)

If you use Am Blues you should go for A7 D7 and E7.

You can use Am Pentatonic over Am, C, Dm, Em, F and G.

9th chords would sound good over a blues progression too. A7, D9, E9 would sound good over an a minor pentatonic or blues progression.
