View Full Version : How tall is everyone?

I've relized that we have (For some strange reason) quite a tall population here at guitar tricks...
So the question is how tall are you? How much do you weigh etc?
Right, I'm 5 foot 7 (sigh), and I'm about 168lb (84 kg).. yep I've put on loads of wieght recently (i used to a slim muscular 73kg, but now i look like "a turkish weight lifter").. but it'll all come off.. heheh... in one big crap...
I've got tiny hands, I mean even for some one my size, but luckly I got hands like rubber, and find no real problem in streching (but the naggin question is will it stay that way in my old age?)... oh yeah I'll post a photo of me streching my cheeks to show you my "rubber skin", I think this is why I'm so strangly flexible.. even now when I'm so out of shape and unfit... I think i'm rubber...

I'm 6'4 (1m91) and I weight 290 pounds (120 kgs)
I have very large hands, and I look a lot like Baloo of Disney's Jungle Book. I'm bald, and every inch of my body is covered by hair (except my head, isn't it ironic...).
I used to play football (defensive tackle) so even though I am big, I am still pretty fit, and I can outrun a lot of my smaller friends (well, coming to a stop is another story)

I'm about 6'2, 170 pounds. I have long hair (past my shoulders) which I usually tie back or wear in a bandana. I mentioned that just to piss of lal ;) I'm pretty lanky and have pretty long fingers which make for fairly easy stretches.
I was once on the all-Ontario junior rugby team, I'm still not in bad shape because I play squash.
I feel like I'm writing an ad in the personals or something :)

I guess I have average hands.
Basicly a bean pole with a bass slung over it's shoulder.

I feel so short. I'm only 5'6" I'm about 175 lbs, medium sized hands (i can't do any major stretching). I'm only 17 so i still got a ways to go before before i lose my hair.

I'm 6'5". I don't really know how much I weigh cause I haven't gotten on the scale in a long time. Probably around 200-210.
And no! . . . I don't play basketball!

I get that question too.
This is shaping up to be the forum with the largest collection of scarred/lumped up heads (from hitting various assorted low hanging things) on the internet.

I've actually gotten by without too many head-jarring incidents. However . . .
Get this - You know those little arms that hang down behind office building doors that make them close all nice and slow? I was walking into an office building and through the insurance company's door to sign for a health insurance policy when I slammed my head on one.
It's a good thing I hadn't signed for the policy yet, or they would've had a hefty claim.

Fairly skinny 5'11 with an "all too comfortable" spread ameks me between 65 to 70kg. My hands are quite big for my size, but a lot of that is in my palms, meaning I tend to like a guitar with a bit of a neck to it.

So I take it your head has made acquaintances with the door frame on occasion?

5'9", 210 lb. Not much hair left on top, but the rest is shoulder-length. I've got small hands, so I can't stretch much, which is why I was content to sell my '62 Strat.

I'm 6'1, 225lbs, really heavily muscled. I do at least 300 reps per arm w/a 25lb weight a day. I need to trade up to 35 or 40 badly... also do a lot of sit ups. You see I have his terible metabolism where I seem to create mass, so I have a slice of pizza and I gain 10 pounds, at my worst I was like 300. Pretty fat. I went vegetarian, drink like 20 glasses of water a day to purge the stomach, and started working out like mad, and has it ever helped my self esteem...
My 5'4 girlfriend has bigger hands than me... not cool for playing guitar but oh well. I implore everyone who wants to improve speed: get a set of hand grips at a sports supply store and then get a 5 to 10 pound weight to do wrist curls with... it will improve your speed a hundred fold and it's especially good if you've got short chubby fingers like me. My pro-guitar regimen is about 300 per hand over the course of the day (usually in intervals of 50) and then like 100 per wrist up and down and then side to side (to aid picking).

I bulked up before my ql3 course so the pt would be easier. I used to work out a lot, planning on going back in the spring/summer...
