How do you go about storing your MP3 files on the web somewhere so that people can access them by clicking a link?
For instance, sometimes I want to let people hear a song our band did but I don't want to pay $$ for web space or use MP3.com or whatever... I just want to store a few songs somewhere so that I can place a link in a text message for other people to click and instantly download or stream my song.
Any ideas? I'm maybe talking 5MB or less...

I know there are a bunch of space providers all around the globe.
In france, the coolest one is http://www.free.fr that gives you 100 Mb space without ad or anything...
In the us, I guess there is tripod, and others.

I did the thing you want to do, check it out:

heh...actually that french site sounds great but I can't figure out what button is used to sign up. I can translate some of it but anything more complicated than what you'd read on the back of a cereal box is beyond me.
I vaguely recall a method of being able to translate sites into English... anybody have any clue if it's possible?

Try using Google.com...
Do a search for the specific page then click on 'translate'.
The result is kinda like an owners manual that's been badly translated from Japanese but at least it's readable... and it good works weller than English not reading.

You can translate text directly or type in a URL.

Nope, I have DSL, and I didn't need dialup to sign up...
