I usaully wear the slide on my pinky so I have the other 3 fingers free to play notes.
I reccomend using a glass slide, the sound of metal on metal can be quite riveting.

Go visit http://www.bigroadblues.com for mp3 slide lessons and a great discussion forum on the blues in general and slide in particular.

Try with bottleneck, it's the best.
I like the way Ritchie Blackmore uses slide. It's not classical blues style, something completely different, something extraordinary.

I'm playing on bass strings. I need something that will stand up to them.
