I just put $500 down on this, and should have it in my posession by next weekend:

I'm a happy camper.

I don`t mind the gloating but for us who don`t know a lot about gear.

What is it?

It's a Sunn 1200s (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=020202153658012011138222939799/search/g=home/detail/base_id/35887) bass amplifier.

That low rumble you hear in the distance next weekend...
That'll be me.

You lucky bastard you!!! enjoy in good health, Ras. I got me one of these (http://www.superiorpics.com/shannon_elizabeth/images/shannon041.jpg) And I didn't have to put her on layaway.

Oh, I have the money, but I'm not giving them all of it until the amp actually comes in...

Most likely in a week or so.

Hey Rasky, if I was looking to buy a cheap bass (~$250) which brands/models would you recommend?

LOL Joseph . . . you must really have a thing for that Shannon chick. That's the second pick you've posted!!!

Check out DeArmonde; their $250 Pilot model has active EQ and a greasy fast neck on it.

I'm partial to Fender Jazz basses myself, but you have to shop around because the Mexican models are kinda sketchy.

Also check out Dean, they makes some pretty decent basses for relatively litte money.

Rask, how many roadies do you need for the speakers that will handle 1200 Watts!? Do you wear a pair of deep-sea diver's boots to keep from getting blown off the stage? :D

Well, I have a 2x15 cab now and I'm going to try and find a second. that should get me by until I can think about trying a 2x18 and 6 or 8x10 combonation.

In the meantime I'm going to use the built in compressor and keep her turned down a bit.

I figure that with two 2x15 cabs I'll be in better shape...
I can leave one in the van (for small gigs/traction in the winter) and one in the apartment (I have the stair case from hell) so i can practice. For actuall Bocce Wagon gigs, I'll have my friend "Ug" help me drag the second cab down to the van.
