probaably the greatest or at least most famous word im rock, crossroads, has now been used as the title for a britney spears movie. is there no end? is nothing sacred?

No.
Seriously, you have to be able to lift yourself above that. No matter what the charts say, no matter what jargon makes it into the top 10, be YOU. If you can be you, and you can be cool with who you are, you'll always be set. Playing for thousands, or playing for yourself, you'll be totally content.
Confidence in yourself is the key to eternal satisfaction.

To be fair on Britney, she's just the actress. She didn't write the script, and she didn't come up with the name. As far as I can tell, it's a movie that has nothing to do with music, and Britney is not playing herself. I have a feeling it won't be a very good movie, but...

Britney SPEARS is hot...
I guess that's why she can't play the guitar...(see this other thread...)

have to disagree with ya lalimacefolle...
have you noticed that 5 out of the 6 replys so far have been moderators?..
You have to realize Zepp that nothings sacred in Hollywood, if it makes money then they'll make the film to make the money...

yep and then if the movie works a bit they'll make the soundtrack and some 4 cds with music inspired by....
then they'll introduce the VHS then they'll sell the DVD.
After a while they'll come up with the director's cut and the special editions with never seen footage.
You know that pepsi and Mcdonald are gonna get in there too.
Then the britney dolls will hit the stands and, and ,and , wow I should really get in the movie business!!! ;)
For some people God ain't black or white he's just green.

Yeah, I saw the poster for it when I went to see LOTR.
I've gotta agree with Zepp here. When I finally saw the title (I spent a few seconds admiring Britney and the two other hotties on the poster), the first thing that popped into my mind was that they were stealing the title from the the song and the older movie. Wtf!!?
Anyway, LaLimace is right. She is "hot", and that's basically the only reason she's famous and doing CDs and movies. She can't sing, and I'm pretty sure she can't act either.

Maybe if we're lucky, Britney will do a cover of the old Cream classic for the movie and replace the guitar solo with one of her ever popular choreographed dance sequences. Seriously, Britney is hot and if she gets the least bit naked in this movie, it will be a huge success. If she doesn't, then Crossroads will probably sit on the video store shelves right next to Maria Carey's movie 'Glitter.'

Apparently Britney takes her kit off within the first couple of minutes, but I wouldn't expect to see anything "interesting"; I doubt she's doing nude scenes. From what I've heard of it, it's just a standard teen coming-of-age movie, and I doubt it's going to be pushed as some massivve thing. I don't think they've got any illusions about it being some huge blockbuster, thoguh it will probably do well given Britney's popularity. Christoph, I think she can sing, just not that well. If you hear your average person on the street trying to sing (some of your none musical friends for instance) you quickly come to realise how few people can actually sing as well as Britney. Hate her music, though at times of extreme silliness I have been known to sing along to "oops I did it again with friends" (can't believe I just admitted that, aaargh, my credibilty; it's.... it's gone!). I think it's a bit arrogant to expect that the word crossroads (which is a fairly common metaphor for people's lives during their teens - what the movie seems to be about) should be used exclusively by people who like blues or something. I mean, please, it seems like a pretty petty reason to bag a singer you don't like.

As far as I can remember the Crossroads film(original) was a bunch of bollocks. It's been a while since I saw it but if I thought it sucked then I can't see it being any better now Im all growed up.

Yeah, it actually wasn't that good of a movie. The only reason it became famous (among guitarists) was the "cuttin' heads" scene at the end. You have to admit, playing guitar to try to save your soul is pretty damn cool.

Yeah, I hope that people were getting upset because of the Robert Johnson/Eric Clapton roots, rather than because it's the name of some appalling straight-to video movie with Ralph Macheo in it. Good ending, incredibly corny movie.

And what about her is really that attractive?
Seriously, I see the plastic surgery, I see the make up, I look elsewhere. That, and she's too damn young, she reminds me of a kid (Bearing in mind that I'm 21), even with her "endowments."
