ok yall might think im stupid for asking this but im looking to buy a guitar with a floyd rose but ive heard its hard to tune them. Now for the question what makes it so hard to tune a floyd rose? i was just wondering cuz ive never tuned one or really had to mess with one for that matter.
thanx

the problem is about balance between the strings and the springs. If you change your string gauge, you'll have to set your tremolo again, etc.

I like the Kahler trem... I think they're out of production.
For all its pains in string guages, etc, the upside to the Floyd Rose is that if it's installed and set right, you'll get better overall tuning stability than you would off a "vintage" style trem, like on a strat.
